Our History

Mileage Communications (India) is a full-service strategic marketing communications and public relations (PR) agency with its main office in New Delhi, which was opened in 1999.

The company also has a Regional Office in Mumbai and a Branch Office in Bangalore, which were both opened in 2000. In addition, the company has a representative in Kolkata. Such an extensive network of offices in key Indian cities allows our clients to reach out to their target audiences countrywide.

KEY PEOPLE AT MILEAGE
 

Mr. Sunil Puri, Executive Director: Sunil has over 20 years experience in the finance, marketing and tourism industries and has successfully handled various large-scale promotions and events for many international clients. His strengths include marketing communications, finance and designing PR strategies.

Mr. Murad Ali Baig, Senior Consultant and Account Director: Murad started his career with J Walter Thomson, and has been a PR professional and a prolific writer for over 30 years. He has won many PR awards and is also a past Chairman of the Public Relations Society of India (Delhi Chapter).

Mr. Om Munjal, Director: An MBA holder with over 33 years experience in hospitality and marketing, he has worked with ITC Hotels in various senior positions including Head of Marketing, Vice President – UK/ Europe and recently President – WelcomHeritage. His strengths include a deep comprehension of business issues and solutions, and a personal network in the corporate world.

Ms. Veena Nanda: Veena has over 10 years’ experience in various fields like exports, event management and NGO activities in Bangalore. She has strong relationships with the regional media in Southern India.

Ms. Aneeta Shah: Aneeta has about 15 years’ experience in organising events and PR. She has also been a freelance writer with several major publications in India before she joined Mileage. Aneeta has an excellent rapport with the media in Mumbai and Western India.

Mr. Vidheesh Tyagi: Vidheesh has over 10 years’ experience in sales and marketing as well as PR. He has successfully handled various co-op promotions, events and various PR initiatives for Mileage clients. His strengths lie in communication skills and strategising.

Mr. Yap Boh Tiong, Overseas Director and Advisor: With over 30 years of experience in Mass Communications, Boh Tiong is a member of the International Public Relations Association and was the President of Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) from 1985-1993. In 2000, he was named the “PR Practitioner of the Year” by the IPRS.

Ms. Patsy Phay, Overseas Director and Advisor: Patsy holds a degree from the Cam Foundation in London. She heads activities for clients from the financial and IT industries and has evolved some groundbreaking PR strategies.

THE HONG KONG TOURISM BOARD (HKTB)
Mileage has been working for HKTB since 1999. Mileage is engaged in strategising and implementing long-term PR plans and activities in India for the promotion of Hong Kong as a premier tourist destination.

Besides promoting Hong Kong as a India-friendly tourism destination, Mileage’s core activity for HKTB include highlighting and reinforcing Hong Kong’s strengths and market-specific appeals such as shopping, dining, business and trade opportunities.

SINGAPORE EXHIBITION SERVICES (SES)
Mileage has managed the PR program for SES, a member of the Montgomery Network and a leading organiser of international trade fairs in Singapore, since 1999.

In accordance with SES’s corporate PR activity plan, Mileage has implemented a sustained campaign to highlight the SES-organised trade fairs and conferences. The aim is to increase Indian industry participation and visitorship for SES events in Singapore. Some of the key SES trade and industry shows promoted by Mileage in India include Machine and Tools Asia, Broadcast Asia and CommunicAsia.

MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL INC.
A lodging company with more than 2,900 operating units around the globe, Marriott International has business interests in hotels and vacation ownership (timeshare) resorts that are operated and franchised under various global brands.

Mileage is working on a multi-pronged PR strategy for all the prominent Marriott brands including JW Marriott, Marriott Hotel Resorts and Suites, Renaissance Hotels and Courtyard. The second key responsibility is implementing Marriott’s corporate PR program in India.

FUJITSU
Fujitsu is a leading provider of customer-focused information technology and communications solutions for the global marketplace. Since its establishment in 1935, Fujitsu has maintained a commitment to cutting-edge technological innovation and uncompromising product quality.

KINEX LOG INTERNATIONAL
Mileage has put in place a sustained media campaign to create greater awareness for the events promoted by Kinex Log International (Education India 2003, Medicare India 2004 and World Travel India 2004) through pre- and post-event programmes. Such programmes include press conferences, press releases, interviews, special feature story placements, at-the-event media visits and launch events.

CONVERGYS CORPORATION
Mileage’s PR activities for Convergys, one of the world’s biggest contact centre service providers, are aimed at raising awareness of the state-of-the-art facilities at Convergys’ Contact Centres in India. The objective is to facilitate local recruitment and highlight Convergys’ role as the largest operator of outsourced contact centres worldwide, as well as its leadership role in India.

GOA MARRIOTT RESORT
Mileage handled the pre-opening publicity and launch promotions for the Goa Marriott Resort – the first Marriott property in India, launched in alliance with business partners V.M. Salgaocar & Brother Ltd.

SITARA NETWORKS ASIA
Sitara Networks Asia is a leading provider of Internet solutions that intelligently integrate applications and networks for enterprises, application service providers (ASPs) and service providers, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based Sitara Networks Inc. Mileage handled the launch event for the company.

INFOCOMM ASIA
InfoComm Asia, a joint venture between ICIA and InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd, was created in 1995 as a dedicated annual showcase for the audiovisual presentation industry in Asia-Pacific. Apart from generating nationwide publicity, Mileage also assisted organisers to source key trade people for the hosted buyers program.

SWAROVSKI
Mileage handled Swarovski’s brand promotion operations in India for two years. In this period, Swarovski’s Valentine’s Day and Summer collections were launched in India. Our PR activities included intensive brand promotion programmes including media visits to showrooms, dissemination of press releases and crystal fests in various cities such as Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

MICHELIN
Michelin unveiled two new tyres, the Pilot Preceda and the Energy MXV8, designed to suit different road and weather conditions common in the Indian sub-continent. Mileage organised numerous one-on-one interviews with leading motoring magazines as well as creating strategic feature placements in mainline dailies and magazines.
